Interview Ilyasah Shabazz, Daughter of Malcom X and Dr. Betty Shabazz

Ilyasah Shabazz is the third daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz. She is an author, most notably of a memoir, Growing Up X, and a motivational speaker. She recently published X: A Novel, co-authored by Kekla Magoon. I had the opportunity to interview her when she visited Tampa as speaker for the Robert Saunders Library Foundation gala, which I was blessed to emcee. Below is a story I put together for that interview for my own archives. Although this did not air on television, another version did.
